A little of this and little of that, Vermilion has an emerging arts and culture experience to share during your visit.

The Postcard Project

In summer 2020, Public Art Vermilion, a Main Street Vermilion program, introduced 15 mural-sized vintage postcard recreations installed throughout Vermilion. This walking/driving tour offers visitors a glimpse of Vermilion’s history as a community and a popular vacation destination. Information and a printed guide are available in the near future Please check back!


Vermilion History Museum °

A fun and quirky little museum that must be seen. The building and equipment served as a print shop and a weekly paper from 1905–1964. The print shop houses two linotypes (c. 1915) and four letter presses and lots of Vermilion history and memorabilia.

Vermilion Arts Guild

The Vermilion Arts Guild, a program of Main Street Vermilion, is a collective of local artists and craftsmen working together to provide opportunities that promote and identify Vermilion as an exciting art community. Gallery shows feature watercolors, acrylics, oils, mixed media, photography, jewelry, potters, fiber art, wood and hand-crafted items. Stop by between April and December and you’re sure to find a seasonal show on exhibit. For more information, including classes and opening reception information visit their website.

Firelands Symphony  °

A professional orchestra with a full and amazing performance and community engagement schedule, Since Maestro Topilow’s appointment as music director and conductor, the Firelands Symphony Orchestra has expanded to include not only local musicians and instructors, but students from both the Cleveland Institute of Music and the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. The audience size increases with each year as our performances and guest artists that rival those of larger cities around the country. Harbourtown Dance Studio °
