The Buoy Tree Project Auction is Live!
Nineteen buoys were selected from the 300 submitted and we’ve put them up for auction! Which one will be yours? Artists from the Vermilion Arts Guild and other local creatives here painted some really charming buoys and you can bid on your favorite. The buoys are on display in the window at Erie & Anchor (5499 Liberty) and you’ll also find them on the Gala Bid auction site. Click here to register and start the bidding. Bidding closes on Saturday, February 1, 2025. All proceeds from the Buoy Tree Project and this online auction benefit Public Art Vermilion and helps bring more art to our community. Thank you for your support.
About the Buoy Tree Project
Public Art Vermilion’s Buoy Tree is a wonderful collaboration of individuals, families, businesses and organizations who helped create this memorable public art installation for the last two holiday and winter seasons.
This fantastic display will be all new with a collection of 350 original buoys that participants painted or decorated creating a truly one-of-a-kind display. The finished buoys are hung on a 12’ high buoy frame in Downtown Vermilion and can be viewed December through Ice A Fair in February 2025. A nod to Vermilion’s nautical history and a wonderful example of what happens when a community works together, you won’t want to miss this installation. Thousands of visitors to Vermilion during the holidays and Ice A Fair will enjoy the unique experience and art of the Buoy Tree. We hope you’ll be among them.
